Butterflies Forever's History
- We started as a non-profit in the mid 90's -our first seminars were about Oregon butterflies and butterfly gardening.
- 1997 we commissioned a feasibility study on
an educational garden in Oregon.
- May 1999 Butterflies Forever opened Oregon's first live butterfly garden of 4,000 square feet in Seaside.
- The Seaside Garden was open summers through September 2001, our attendance grew every year at an amazing rate.
- The Seaside Garden was a temporary site and the landowner decided to sell the property. We thought we had a permanent location in Astoria but that was withdrawn in 2003 when we had not opened a facility due to the horrible economy of the North Coast region.
